I had to get some stuff done yesterday that I had put off all month long. I had to go to the BMV to get a new license and renew my car registration. I had been dreading the long lines and I really didn’t want this taking up my whole afternoon. Well to my surprise there was one person in line and that was it! Woohoo! Score one for Jordan! This was going to be a breeze. I get up to the counter and there in front of me is one of the clerks and she has this scowl on her face as if to say to me ”Don’t EVEN think of asking me any dumb questions”. So I politely say good afternnon, how are you and the all the pleasantries that I would give to anyone else. After a quick hi she asked what I wanted and told her I needed a new driver’s license and renew my tags. She asked to see my driver’s license , so there I stood struggling to get it out of my wallet and while I was yanking and tugging this woman had the nerve to roll her eyes and mumble a couple of things under her breath and then she snapped ”Just give it to me!” Geez! I apologized for having it lodged in my wallet and explained that I needed to change my last name to my new married name and asked if I just needed to give her my social security card as proof……the woman quickly gave me a dirty look and said “You need your marriage license” and I replied that I had no clue where it was and she responded with another eye roll and repeated ”You need your marriage license”. I don’t think words could explain how rude this woman was but this isn’t the only time this has happened. Every time I’ve had to go into the BMV I’m treated with such hostility. I just don’t get it??? I could see if there was a huge line behind me but I was the only one there! She even told me that they hardly had anyone in all day! So what is with all the attitude? I realize working with the public isn’t always an easy job…..ahem, I do it!!! Yes, people complain to you over dumb things and they ask stupid questions and yes some are just plain rude BUT COME ON!!! I was the person that came up and greeted you with a smile, said hello and asked how your day was!! You can’t take the energy to smile back and ask how you can help me? I just don’t get it? I always try to put myself in the other persons shoes…maybe her cat died? Maybe she ran over her cat? Maybe her cat didn’t like her and he threw himself in front of her car? Oh, who knows just glad that I don’t have to deal with her next year…..I’ll be renewing my tags by computer like I usually do! Take that BMV lady!

Well, it’s here! My birthday! I’m now the big 33. You have to admit, there are some neat things about birthdays. It’s the one day out of the whole year you feel a little bit more special than the person standing next to you. The one day you can call your own. There is nothing better than to have people wish you a Happy Birthday. I’m not one for the song, the cake and the candles….I can do without that. But just to be acknowledged that it’s your special day is fun. On the way in to the station I was thinking of the many times my mother tried to pull off birthday parties for me when I was little. I absolutely hated the fact of having all these kids on my territory and in my space. I would bawl when people would sing happy birthday to me…and I have no clue why. One birthday in particular I remember waiting for all the kids to arrive so my mom made me usher all the kids that had already arrived outside to play on my swingset. I didn’t like them touching my things or playing with my toys so I was incredibly mean to them. One kid in particular was kind of chubby and he asked if he could use my swing. I promptly told him “NO! You’ll break it” How awful am I? Hey, I was five and I think karma is getting back at me for those remarks…don’t you worry! After that episode I kept to family bday parties where everyone was forced to wear Strawberry Shortcake party hats….too funny! Well, I don’t know what is in store today…I think I’ll treat myself to a pedicure and a nice dinner out with my husband. If you are celebrating your birthday today….Well then let me wish you a very HAPPY BIRTHDAY! Enjoy YOUR special day!

Here’s my exact words… “If I had to guess the winner I’m going to say………..Shawn Johnson and Mark Ballas. I guess we’ll start the process next week and see how my predictions turned out!”
Hey I’m very rarely right so I enjoy the times that I am….Shhhh, don’t tell my husband!

Dancing with the Stars ..the finals! Did you catch the show last night? I always look forward to the freestyle round but boy was I disappointed! Shawn did a good job but I expected so much more from Melissa and Gilles. For some reason dancers in the finals always go the hip hop route and sometimes I’m blown away. I thought since this was only the second time Tony had been in the finals that he would have picked a better song and the choreography would have been awesome. When Gilles and Cheryl took the stage I got this immediate feeling that he was going to steal the show. But wow, he really didn’t do that much. Well there’s another season in the books! So who do I think will win? Well, in the begining I predicted Shawn and Mark would win but I have a feeling the women of the world will be voting for Gilles. But yes, I did vote and Shawn got all of mine! Good Luck Shawn!

Wow! The season finale to Grey’s Anatomy was just unreal! I won’t mention the ending for those who haven’t seen it yet. I did want talk about the last lines that were delivered by Meredith Grey. How profound yet simple they were and they are words that we should all take to heart and make sure we do every day. Here is what she said at the end of the episode…
“Did you say it? I love YOU……. I don’t ever want to live without YOU………………. YOU changed my life……..Did you say it?
Make a plan, set a goal, work toward it……………but every now and then look around, drink it in………….cause this is it.
It might all be gone tomorrow”

How simple that is but yet how hard it is to say it. I hope you find yourself saying it more often!

That’s it, I’m done! Jon and Kate plus 8….the show that I loved to watch with all of their sweet faces, a loving couple dealing with the ups and downs of having 8 kids is history to me. Have you seen the tabloids? I know you can’t believe everything you read but come on…..something in their marriage has obviously fallen apart and these little ones are going to pay the price. At first I thought the show was a great way for the family to make some extra money to save up for the many college tuitions that will be heading their way soon. I figured a little bit of their privacy would be compromised but I never imagined that the parents of all people would be the ones to take advantage of the situation. The family now has a million dollar home in Pennsylvania and Jon has a brand new sports car to wheel around in. The cuteness factor has worn away for me. How many times can you watch kids at a theme park? Everywhere these kids get to go they are treated like rock stars and are given everything under the sun! By age ten these little ones will have done and experienced everything there is to do! They have met every Disney character, Disney princess, Sesame Street Character twice! If you have ever watched an episode where they meet these mascots the poor kids seem almost bored! Now the parents are in the tabloids for “supposedly”cheating on each other. Kate was just on the Today show discussing the new season of the show. If that was me, I think I would get the hint that maybe my family needs me more than the American TV viewing audience.

Just about a month away from my 1st wedding anniversary!!! I can’t believe it has already been a year! Here’s where I need your help…. What in the world do I get for an anniversary present? Everyone keeps telling me that the traditional one year anniversary gift is paper. Well what the heck does that mean? Can’t you just do gifts like you would for Christmas or birthdays? I’m so stuck for ideas. One of my husbands favorite things that I gave him was a cd that I put together. I know, it was very high schoolish to do that but hey, I’m a DJ and that’s what I do! But he listens to that thing religiously! What’s even funnier, is that when I handed it to him and got in my car he thought I was breaking up with him. Poor guy. So I need your help and suggestions. If you are on Facebook then add me as a friend and send me your ideas or send them by email. Any suggestion is greatly appreciated!! I’ll let you know what I decided on in a month!

Awww Cinco de Mayo!!! We were out and about at El Vaquero and what a day it was! Full of fun, sombreros, tacos and HUGE margaritas! I couldn’t believe the amount of people that came out to enjoy the day. We were at the Sancus Blvd. location from 4-6pm then on to the Dublin Rd. location from 7-9pm. By the time we got through traffic in Powell we couldn’t find a place to park in Dublin….CRAZINESS!

Well, as of today I think I actually have found my perfect sport, Horse Racing!! Ok, not just any horse race but the Kentucky Derby! Why you ask??
1. It’s 2 minutes long! I have a short attention span so this helps out greatly!
2. It involves horses! I grew up with horses and they are one of my favorite animals. I had a Quarter horse named Poco Fisher when I was young. She was the sweetest thing, she would have let me sleep in her stall. She was very good to me. She wouldn’t come in the barn one night when a bad storm came through and the next morning we found that she had been hit by lightning…..very sad…ok on to #3 before I start crying.
3. All the fancy dresses, hats and drinks!!!
Ok, there you go. Now I want a horse!
