The amazing crime fighting duo strike again!

My husband and I seem to find ourselves in the most interesting situations. But its what you do in those situations that can either make you laugh, make you mad or make you just plain crazy!! In this case we were coming from my in laws house on Saturday night around 10:30pm. We were going through the big metropolis of Plain City. Now before you go and think I’m making fun of this town please know it is out of fondness. The town that I grew up in is just like Plain City ….you know, two stop lights, mom and pop businesses and a very strict speed limit. As we are crawling through town doing 25mph we notice something dart out into the street and run back. It looks like a person….and just when we go past that “person” I see a bunch of preteen boys with guns laying on the side of the street waiting to hit passing cars with either a paint ball or pellet gun. Well just then I hear BAM so I tell my husband to pull over into a parking lot so I can see if there was any damage done to my NEW car. I jump out, don’t see much but then I start to get really mad because I know there are bunch of kids just a block away and they are doing this to every car going past!!! I look at my husband and say “Feel like scaring some kids??” He agrees and I tell him to turn the car around and head back in the direction where the kids were hiding out. Leave it to my husaband to add drama to the whole thing…He pulls out of the parking lot and guns it down the street, with squealing tires. These kids must have been watching to see if we were going to come back because I see a whole bunch of them start running when they see our car. So we pull into a side street where they are running and I jump out and start running after them (I was about ready to have a heart attack!). So these boys run in between two houses that have a bunch of trees to hide them. I can see their sillouettes against the street lights so I start yelling at them and tell them that they nailed my car with something, that they better quit before they get someone killed. So I turn to walk away and I’m dying on the inside….I want to laugh so hard but pretend to be extremely mad as I stomp back to my car and slam the door. My huband looks over at me in the car and be both start laughing so hard we’re in tears! Man, that felt awesome!! If these kids wanted to dish out some fear in drivers then I was about to make them wet their pants in fear as well! Whether I accomplished that…I’ll never know. But these kids gotta realize they can’t be hitting cars with things. So we drove over to the Police Dept. and told them what happened and how we handled it and the cops just laughed and they wanted in on the action too. They got all suited up to go and have a little talk with these kids. Thank God there was no damage done to my car because they really wouldn’t want to deal with me then!! What a funny night….I honestly haven’t laughed that hard in quite awhile! So my husband and I will put away our super hero capes away for awhile until we are needed again!

Where O Where has my little voice gone?

November 4th, 2009 by jordan-wsny

Well I’m feeling 100% better but something is missing……….MY VOICE! I’m trying everything known to man and it’s coming back very slowly. I really thought I would have had it back by now. I am drinking tons of tea with lemon and honey and not much has happened except for many trips to the bathroom! I guess I just did so much damage to my vocal chords with all the coughing they just haven’t healed yet. So please bare with me…I’m here in the studio playing your favorite music but just not in voice. Do you have a home remedy for curing a hoarse voice? I’d love to hear it! I’ll try anything at this point!

I’m kinda back…

Well I have internet at the new house…finally!!! Monday morning will mark my return to the station after several days off. I’m not completely over the hump yet. I have pneumonia (if the Doctor at urgent care would have taken the time to notice I was coughing badly and couldn’t breathe) at first I was diagnosed with a sinus infection which is not that huge of a deal but when you can hardly breathe then you got some issues. So I’m still coughing but no where near as bad as it was. The big issue at the moment is that I have noooo voice. Not a good problem to have when you depend on your voice to do your job. So I’m desperately trying to rest my voice before Monday morning rolls around. My husband seems to forget this bit of information because he makes me repeat all of my whispers….UGH!!! So I look forward to coming back and feeling better. This stay at home thing is really annoying. I need to be among other people and talking. So I hope to hear from you as well. Hope you are talking good care of yourself. I have another sick person in the house that I need to go take care of….YAY! Bye!

Quick update….

October 28th, 2009 by jordan-wsny

Hey there again… Unfortunately, we are STILL without internet at the new house. I’d love to blame my husband but honestly is has been a rough week for both of us. I’ve been horribly sick since Friday and I’m just plain miserable. I’ve seriously had 4 hours of sleep in the past four days and I’m just at the end of my rope. I thought things were getting better earlier today but my coughing is horrible and it’s hard to breathe. The Doc at the urgent care said it was a sinus infection but I cough so violently that I can’t fall asleep even for just a few minutes. So I’ve been a teary eyed, exhausted mess for the past couple days. I just want to get better so my lungs and chest don’t feel like one big open wound. Now I think my husband is coming down with it and neither of us can peel ourselves off the couch. So I plan on making another return visit to the urgent care today so see why I can’t breathe and hopefully will give me something to knock me out cold.
I know things cold be alot worse and I’m wishing all of you good health! PLEASE KEEP WASHING YOUR HANDS!!
I’ll check back soon.

Nothing but chaos!!

I’m sure I’ll be apologizing for my lack of blog posts quite a bit in the coming weeks. We got moved into the new house over the weekend and I couldn’t tell you where any of my belongings are!! That includes my computer! It’s in some box with lots of wires and cords….so I’ll try my best to keep up while here at the station. Moving is such a pain that I wonder why more people just don’t stay put. It is really irritating at the moment because we are living at the house but still have some stuff at our townhouse. So we are going back and forth between the places packing up the remaining stuff and hauling it to the house a little at a time. Next week we will be rid of the townhouse and I’ll be very happy about that. So we don’t have anything unpacked yet except for our bed up and the washer and dryer hooked up. Right now, that’s all I need! So I don’t see any unpacking getting done for at least another week. Once the townhouse is out of the way we can focus solely on the house. Soooo, how have you been? What’s been going on in your world? Enjoying these odd fall temps? So glad it will be warmer today…so I hope you get out and enjoy it! I will try to keep up with my blog so let’s hope the computer gets hooked up soon!!

What am I?

Teachers say they can identify the naughtiest kids, as well as the brightest kids and the most popular kids, on the first day of school* just by looking at their names. Bounty.com surveyed 3,000 school teachers and concluded that 49% “expect” children with certain names to have certain personality characteristics* and they have these expectations before they’ve ever met the kids.

•Top 10 names of the naughtiest boys: Callum, Connor, Jack, Daniel, Brandon, Charlie, Kyle, Liam, Jake, Brooklyn.
•Top 10 names of the naughtiest girls: Chelsea, Courtney, Chardonnay, Aleisha, Casey, Crystal, Jessica, Brooke, Demi and Aisha.
•Top 10 names of the brightest boys: Alexander, Adam, Christopher, Benjamin, Edward, Matthew, Daniel, James, Harry and William.
•Top 10 names of the brightest girls: Elizabeth, Charlotte, Emma, Hannah, Rebecca, Abigail, Grace, Alice, Anna and Sophie.
•Top 10 names of the most popular boys: Jack, Daniel, Charlie, Callum, Benjamin, Connor, Adam, Alfie, Christopher and James.
•Top 10 names of the most popular girls: Emma, Charlotte, Hannah, Anna, Caitlin, Chelsea, Courtney, Holly, Brooke and Jessica.

Do you really think a kid named Alfie is going to be the most popular??? Seriously???

Sorry sometimes doesn’t cut it.

My husband and I took the easy way out last night. We had to drop some stuff off at the Good Will and pick up a prescription so we figured ahhh we’re hungry don’t feel like cooking and we have a visa gift card that is robbing us of money every month we don’t use it. So we ended up at a wing joint in Lewis Center…..and no it’s not the chain you are probably thinking of. I’m dying to tell you which restaurant it is but alas …I cannot. I’ve gotta be nice here. Anyway, we sit down and it took at least ten minutes just to get our order, another 15 to 20 just to get our drinks and I would estimate another 30 to 40 minutes to get our food!!! Hello people!! It’s wings! Not that difficult! I made a comment or two to the waitress in the nicest way possible inquiring as to why the food took so long. She had no answer. Then the manager came by to ask us about our dinner. I did pay them a compliment by saying the food was good but it took forever to get to us and his answer???? “I’m so sorry”….ummmm is that it? He apologized again……and yet I was waiting for more….seriously?? I figured a nice gesture would be to discount the bill by a few dollars at the very least. But we got a whole lotta…..sorrys. Good grief! I’ve stated before I will compliment when it’s due and I try not to make a big stink when things are bad but we were in there forever! If you were the manager, what would have done? What has a manager done to keep you as a customer after a complaint was made? I’d love to know. Whatever you do, don’t go to “that” restaurant and expect fast service…that’s for sure!

What a day!

October 5th, 2009 by jordan-wsny

My weekend was going really well…busy, but good. That was until Sunday morning rolled around. I was woken up by a loud knock on the door at 8am and it took me awhile to come to and figure out what was going on. I didn’t see anyone at the door by the time I got there but for some reason I wasn’t getting a good feeling. How many times to people knock on your door at 8am with good news?? Yes, exactly. I had a Sunny appearance at 11am so I knew I needed to get moving and get ready. I left my makeup bag and hair brushes in my car from getting ready for the Taste of Home Cooking School the day before so threw on some clothes and walked out to my car that was sitting in our driveway. When I saw my car I noticed my black car organizer sitting on top of my car and that’s when it registered that that must have been what the knock was at my door. But how in the world did I drop that from my glove compartment?? So I continued to open my car door and my car is in complete disaray…..oh crap this isn’t good! My arm console between the seats was open and my little storage area near my dashboard was wide open too. I then noticed one single black glove laying on the drivers seat. I then look to the back seat and notice my drycleaning is missing which included my husbands suit jacket and my blazer. A bag with a curling iron and big makeup mirror is also missing. Crap! I did see that my makeup bag was intact….whew! So this is a lovely way to start my Sunday….my car was broken into. I always lock my car doors but my husband needed something out of my car late at night and he didn’t lock up after he was done…so I was NOT HAPPY! It seems like it was a bunch of teenagers or stupid criminals that did the damage. In fact our whole neighborhood got hit. My husband walked the neighborhood while I grabbed a quick shower. He came back with my headphones that I use here at the station. He said he found them along side the road…..sad..I didn’t even know they were missing. He saw two Columbus police officers and they were taking reports. He spotted CD’s thrown in people’s front yards and a police officer said that there was a wallet found with all the credit cards intact but the cash was gone. No windows were smashed no damage done just hit the cars that leave their doors open. YAY for me! I had doors open. But when it comes right down to it, I’m extrememly lucky. No damage was done to my car. I can live without a curling iron and a mirror. Disappointed about losing a nice suit jacket and blazer but things really could have been alot worse. Good news is…….It’s a new day, a day to start over and on to bigger and better things. We close on our house today and after the break in we are definitely looking forward to making a fresh start in a new place. This time I will make sure that my husband ALWAYS locks my car doors..providing my keys aren’t inside!

Ready to hit my restart button!

September 29th, 2009 by jordan-wsny

Not trying to bring up the whole house thing again but the fact you are given this restart button is awesome. Throw out the old and bring in the new or slightly used stuff. It’s not only clothes, furniture and digs but it is also a new way of looking at yourself and all the things you want to change. One of the things that has got to change is my health. I don’t know when it all got out of control. I used to be thin….not a size 2 thin but a good healthy weight…where I was supposed to be for my age. But somewhere down the line I just forgot to care anymore. I can pinpoint cetain times of just being plan lonely. I was living on my own and in different towns due to radio and just gave up on myself. During the day I worked and chose to work long hours because I didn’t have anyone to go home to. Plus I worked with all guys and when I wasn’t doing bar appearances (almost every night of the week) then I was trying to be one of the boys by eating and drinking what they did. It wasn’t good.
What’s even worse…is that when I look in the mirror I just don’t see it. It takes a picture of me for me to gasp and practically put me in tears. How can I be so good to everyone around me and care about their health and life and be so reckless with my own? I could write you a book on this subject. It will take some time as we get settled before I can get myself going on some kind of lifestyle change. But I guess my question to you is……Where do I start? If you need to do a huge overhaul on yourself how do you undertake such a task? I would love to hear your stories and as always, your suggestions!

Time to pack….ughhhhh

September 26th, 2009 by jordan-wsny

We have been putting this off partly because we were afraid we’d jinx the whole deal by being too eager to move. So now that closing seems to be a week away and we have moving boxes, I think it’s time to pack!
It’s been many years since I’ve had to do this and I’m always trying to find new ways to make my life easier and hassle free. Do you have any packing or moving tips for us? Maybe you’ve figured out a way to pack things quicker, safer or more in a box? I’ve been researching it online (like I do everything!) trying to find some way of making this whole thing more organized. I’m actually looking forward to this fresh start. It’s a great way to get rid of all the junk and things you don’t need anymore and get stuff in order. Of course if you don’t have any tips or advice….we could always use some extra hands moving!!! Hello? Are you still there? I guess this is where you find out who your true friends are huh? As always I’ll keep you posted on how it’s going! Have a great weekend! Go Bucks!
